What You will be doing

The Finance Manager is a key role within our organization, charged with managing all financial aspects of our fast-growing technology startup. Responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cash management, and financial operations, this role ensures the company's financial health and supports strategic decision-making. The Finance Manager also plays a key role in investor relations, compliance, and risk management, while providing strategic input to drive growth and expansion. With a focus on accuracy, integrity, and forward-thinking financial strategies, the Finance Manager contributes significantly to the company's success and sustainable growth trajectory.

  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

    • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and cash flow.

    • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and investors.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Collaborate with department heads to establish and manage budgets.

    • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast variances.

    • Update forecasts regularly based on changing business dynamics.

  • Cash Management:

    • Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operating expenses and strategic investments.

    • Optimize working capital and cash conversion cycles.

    • Monitor banking relationships and oversee cash management operations.

  • Financial Operations:

    • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls.

    • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial standards.

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:

    • Prepare and file financial statements and tax returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.

    • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance.

  • Investor Relations:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, providing timely updates and reports.

    • Assist in fundraising activities, including preparing investor presentations and financial projections.

  • Strategic Financial Planning:

    • Provide strategic input to the executive team on growth initiatives, capital allocation, and business expansion.

    • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and other strategic opportunities.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.

    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's financial health.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Build and mentor a finance team as the company grows.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance function.

  • Ad hoc Projects and Analysis:

    • Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management.

    • Support cross-functional initiatives to drive efficiency and innovation across the organization.

You'll be great for this role if
  • You have a strong background in finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced technology firm

  • You are proficient in financial modelling, analysis, and forecasting, with a track record of developing and managing complex financial models.

  • You have excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • You have proven experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting, with a focus on driving operational efficiency and maximizing profitability.

  • You have a strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to senior management and investors.

  • You have strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset and a willingness to take ownership of challenges and drive solutions.

  • You have a results-oriented approach, with a passion for driving business growth and success through sound financial management and strategic decision-making.

  • You are passionate about new technologies and innovations within Fintech

  • You are fluent in English. German is a big plus!
